Default Keywords in URL and SEO

Many SEOs still questioning the importance of having your keywords in your URLs and if it is worth or not to use Mode Rewrite which is easy job if you are using a popular script like WordPress or Joomla but it is not if you are using custom script.
Regardless of the impact of having keywords in the URLs on your ranking lets talk about other benefits of keyword rich URLs:

1- Having short URLs with no/less variables (http://www . yoursite.com/keyword1-keyword2.htm instead of http://www . yoursite.com?var1=76&sid=9857744&var2=username .. etc) will give your pages better crawl ability

2- A study showed that people tend to click more on shorter keyword rich URLs, the reason behind that might be the bold keywords in the URL

For me I see a huge benefit for your CTR (click through rate) when you have keywords in URLs

Having keyword on your domain can be a big factor on ranking your site. Because the keyword your searching for is the domain itself. The race for the rank will depend on your competitors.

Some SEO experts feel placing keywords in the URL is vitally important; a Web page simply won't rank well without keywords in the URL.
